Friends of the Atherton Rail Trail and the Tableland Regional Council invite you to the official opening of stage one of the Atherton Rail Trail on Sunday 14 September.
Join us at Platpus Park (Weaver St. and Atherton-Herberton Rd.Atherton) at 8am for the official opening and ribbon cutting at 8.30am.
Walkers and Cyclist will then be invited to be the first to use the rail trail, picking up a group of horse riders at Mazlin Creek for the ride to Tolga,the current end of stage one being 7km from Atherton.
A morning tea will be provided at Tolga upon arrival at Tolga.
The Tableland Regional Council and the Friends of the Rail Trail have worked very hard over the last few years and are now focused on stage two of the rail trail from Tolga to Walkamin.
