Rail Trails Australia has produced industry-leading and extensive guidelines outlining the steps and considerations for establishing, maintaining and promoting a rail trail. This document is a must for anyone seeking assistance in the process, and has been compiled and updated by experts in the field.

The guidelines are free for volunteers, not-for-profit organisations and local government. There is a cost of $150 for commercial use.
