Victoria’s Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail has finally reopened through to Timboon following the completion of 2 bridges between Glenfyne and Curdies River. The works have provided access back into this pristine part of the trail just in time for spring.
Committee chair Pat Robertson was very pleased with the completed works and that the trail was finally open again. “I wish to thank Corangamite Shire and Regional Development Victoria for their assistance on getting these works completed. The new bridges look fantastic and should last for a long time,” she said.
It has been great to see the number of people using the reopened section. The completed works have opened the trail again to walkers and cyclists from Camperdown to the coast via the Twelve Apostles Trail that takes over from the rail trail at Timboon, providing off-road access to Port Campbell.
Committee members have been busy keeping the trail clear of fallen trees and now shift their focus to the replacement of the highest and longest bridge in the section – Bridge 13 – which is planned to commence in January 2026.
