There is another option for your Victorian Labour Day or Easter holiday planning!
A big crowd was on hand on Friday to be part of the official opening of the Black Spur section of the Great Southern Rail Trail (GSRT) by Harriet Shing MP, Member for Eastern Victoria.
This 2.6km link between Koonwarra and Meeniyan, which contains three large bridges connects the Leongatha to Koonwarra section to the rest of the rail trail making a continuous 67km from Leongatha to Welshpool.
The Victorian state government provided $1.3m and the South Gippsland Shire Council provided $500,000 for this project, which also includes amenities improvements and marketing.
