Rail trail lovers excitement is growing in the Northern Rivers of NSW with the commencement of construction of the Tweed Valley section of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail (NRRT) and the recent announcement of $9.9 million funding for the Bentley to Lismore section. This will add to the Casino to Bentley section of the NRRT that will follow closely behind the Tweed Valley Rail Trail.
To keep the momentum going, the NRRT committee have released a great new promotional video to publicise the already fully funded 54 kilometres of trail and built on that to finish the remaining 76 kilometres.
With this week’s NSW council elections to be held on 4 December, there is high anticipation that a new direction in the Byron Council will be found — the beach link on the NRRT will become a reality, funding will be granted and the entire length of the NRRT will come into existence.

Having ridden Rail Trails in Victoria and now living at Evans Head the Development of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail is a tremendous initiative through some of the most beautiful country in Australia
