Register for news updatesNorthern Rivers Rail Trail (NSW) Construction Resumes & Plans Released
After the devastating floods that struck the northern NSW and SE Qld this year, some good news with life returning to a little more like normal and construction has resumed on the Tweed and Casino to Bentley sections of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail.
This 21km section between Murwillumbah and Crabbes Creek will be NSW’s second major rail trail and it is still scheduled to be opened by the end of 2022.
Also this week, Tweed Shire Council released their ‘first look’ at the trail alignment to provide residents and rail trail enthusiasts with a greater insight into the trail route. The plans identify sealed and unsealed sections as well as locations for where the trail goes off the formation of the rail line.

Meanwhile Richmond Council is also getting on with construction of their 13.5km section from Casino to Bentley.
