Get ready for a fun-filled day of cycling on the scenic Great Victorian Rail Trail on Sunday, March 2, 2025. This family friendly event welcomes cyclists of all ages and abilities to enjoy the beauty of the GVRT. Starting and finishing in Mansfield, this out-and-back ride provides two distance options; Maindample (28km return) or Bonnie Doon (44km return) which includes riding across the iconic Lake Eildon rail trail bridge. Experience beautiful views, gentle gradients, and a traffic-free environment.
Organised by the Friends of the GVRT, the ride’s entry fee includes refreshments at the turn-around location, courtesy of a local coffee van. After your ride, return to Mansfield for a delicious sausage sizzle by A Third Hand, a local community group, along with live music to celebrate your achievement.
The Friends of the GVRT are an active group contributing to the enhancement of the trail experience through a range of initiatives. Funds raised will support to these on-going activities. “This family friendly event is intended to foster community engagement and promote the GVRT as a great destination for outdoor activity” says Ross Vaughan, Secretary of the Friends of the GVRT.
The event is sponsored by the Bendigo Bank, Mansfield and District as part of their Community Impact Sponsorship program.
