Not sure why. IIRC there was some vigorous opposition from a couple of landholders around Proston and the proposed trailtrail section from Proston to Hivesville was shelved. It was never scrapped.

SBRC have recently released a revised planning instrument for the Region and the whole length from Murgon to Proston is proposed to be zoned as a tail trail under the regional infrastructure overlay. This route has value not just in itself but as part of a link from the KKRT to the BBIRT at Gayndah, the route through Proston being the most popular.
